Weddings are where my heart lies but sometimes, just sometimes, I crave a bit of variety in my work. That's why I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be co-hosting my first workshop with Daisy Rose Floral Design on May 23rd at Hamel Family Wines in the Sonoma Valley.
I met Daisy eons ago, when the two of us were cutting our teeth as floral designers. She had just moved back to Sonoma after spending a decade in Spain. What amazed me about Daisy was her energy and intelligence. Nothing was going to stop her. Forget jet lag. Forget culture shock. Daisy had the clarity and vision that she wanted to be a floral designer AND that she wanted to be a small business owner. It was impressive.
My journey to opening up Hawthorn Flower Studio was a much longer path. I worked alongside a ton of gracious, talented, well-known florists before opening up my studio. All the while, Daisy was cheering me on and as I took on more and more of my own work each year, she would be there as a friend and adviser. That's why I'm so excited to be co-hosting this workshop with someone who I admire, respect and enjoy being around.
Join us on May 23 to learn how to incorporate summer's fruit and flower harvest from local growers into gorgeous tabletop designs. The day will be punctuated with wine tasting, charcuterie plates and an optional bio-dynamic lunch.
We hope to create a supportive, relaxed and warm environment for students to learn in. We hope you'll love spending time with us as much as we'll love spending time with you!
